Hi guys,
I’m new to blogging so please have patience as I get this thing rolling. I started this blog because I wanted to create a more “professional” space to share my work aside from Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. I’ve done a decent amount of traveling so here you will find some photos and journals from my travels. I also enjoy reading and writing so you will also find some book reviews and some of my own writing as well. As you can see, I’m still in the process of getting this up and running so in the mean time, I thought it would be fun to start off with a little Get To Know Me post, so here are 33 Facts About Me:
.) My real name is Katherine, but I’ve gone by K.C. all my life.
.) I am the oldest of three.

.) I’ve never owned a dog, but I’ve owned cats growing up. I currently have two cats: Mia and Pippin.

.) I am a gemini. My birthday is May 25th.

.) I have lived in Connecticut my whole life.

.) I’m left-handed. When my family and I go out to eat, it takes about five minutes to figure out the seating arrangements. We constantly play “wait, which side is your bad side, again?” as our host or hostess awkwardly wait for us to get settled so they can put down our menus and silverware.

.) My favorite color is GREEN.
.) I went to Susquehanna University for undergrad where I earned two degrees. One degree is creative writing and the other degree is editing & publishing. I also earned two minors in Spanish and photography.

.) I rode on the English Equestrian Team in college.

.) I was a member of Alpha Phi Omega.

.) My favorite movie is The Lion King (I’m super excited for the live action movie!)

.) I don’t have any tattoos, but if I were to get one, I would get Rafiki’s drawing of Simba with the words: Remember Who You Are.

.) When I was in high school, I volunteered at Connecticut’s Beardsley Zoo (the only zoo in Connecticut). I took part in a program called Conservation Discovery Corps. I educated the public on the animals and the importance of conservation. This was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made in high school. I’ve made lifelong friends and I gained a lot of experience in the realm of public speaking.

.) My first time out of the country was to Australia in the summer of 2009 (I was fifteen). I went with the People to People Student Ambassador Program. Having never been to sleep away camp, this was also my first time away from home. I contracted the travel bug and have been to several other countries since Australia. Traveling with People to People was the other best decision I ever made in high school. I hope to travel more in the near future.

(I loved the experience and the program so much, I took another trip with People to People to South Africa in 2011. )

.) I love long car rides by myself because it means I get to sing my heart out. (I can pretend I know how to sing).
.) I don’t drink coffee. (I have never ordered a drink from Starbucks).
.) I have reoccurring nightmares of my teeth falling out.
.) I’ve never pierced anything other than my ears.
.) I enjoy a wide range of music. My top artists include Florida Georgia Line, The Chainsmokers, and G-Eazy (who’s new album is coming out December 15th!!!). I am not a fan of jazz or classical.

.) My first concert was Miley Cyrus and Metro Station.
.) I like to read and write.

.) I have never read Harry Potter.
.) I love chocolate…dark chocolate is where it’s at though.

.) I like chicken nuggets and honey (when I was younger I used to peel the breading off my nuggets. To this day, I still don’t know why.)

.) I was a Girl Scout.
.) I unknowingly bought a pregnant guinea pig once.

.) My first car was a 2003 black Jeep Liberty. I drive around with a fuzzy green steering wheel and rainbow lei hanging from the rearview mirror. I share the car with my sister and my brother. But when my brother is around, the fuzzy steering wheel and lei must go =(

.) In my free time I like to geek out on Nat Geo Wild.

.) I love people watching.
.) My favorite holiday is Thanksgiving. What’s better than mashed potatoes and being surrounded by family?
.) My favorite quote is: All That I’m After Is A Life Full Of Laughter–it is my mantra.

.) I don’t like odd numbers and have a hard time remembering them, I’m not sure why.
.) I did a graduate program this past summer at Columbia University’s Publishing Course. (Stay tuned for some posts from my journal during my time there).
